The camera zooms in on Dru Nedermeyer, already dressed in his ring gear. He adjust the tape on his wrist, and looks dead level into the camera.
Tonight, I face a faceless opponent. An opponent who from the looks of things, may be a match for even myself. I wouldn't have it any other way. But you see, people. That's not the only thing I face. I face the eyes of so many wrestling cridicts. The eyes of you...the fans. The eyes of ANYONE who's followed my 11 year career. And for many of them, for the record I've emassed. For the men I've beaten, 1 number stands out.
2.
What's the number 2 mean? That's the number of years it's been since I've held championship gold. The last Time I was a world champion, I beat Jayson Jones in a 30 minute Ironman match for the UPW world title. But that was 2 years ago. Since losing that belt, in the last match I've lost to date, I've gone unbeaten in 3 companies. But ladies and gents, I'M ABOUT DUE. There are 2 spots left in the Battlezone main event. The lucky number 2, again. Now I know what you all are thinking, You've got this match versus the mystery man, how can you do it??? The answer is simple. I can do it, simply because I can. It takes conditioning and balls made of steel to even step into a match as brutal as The Battlezone. But I've made a career of defying odds, and being brutal. 1 thing is for certain, the 6 men who go in are NOT coming out the same. 1 man will be crowned world champion, but they'll have a mark on there soul for the rest of there career. That's a risk I'm willing to take...to be a champion once again. Will I be in the main event? Not my decision to make. But I WILL be a champion once again...That much I can promise you.
The camera fades to black as Dru walks out of the frame. It then cuts to another segment.
