He had gathered all of his belongings from his office. Sadly, there wasn't much. At this point in his career, this was basically all he owned. A box....a small cardboard box full of priceless items. Of course, he had his houses....his cars. Everything his title reigns and wrestling paychecks paid for. Nothing that meant more than the very few items in this box though.
"I should have known..."
He exits the tower means of the back door. Placing the small box down next to a metal barrel. Reaching down, he removes one object from the box, a picture frame. He slams the frame against the wall of the building, shattering the glass that protected the valuable item inside. That item, all he wanted. A picture of him, Lindsay, and Emily...their daughter. A picture that had sat so perfectly on his desk, though he kept it hidden most of the time not wanting to anger 'THE BOSS'. Now, folded in half and placed in his pants pocket is where it would rest. The frame and few pieces of shattered glass that had caught in his hand and not hit ground, found themselves being tossed into the metal barrel.
Slowly, he bends down and picks up the cardboard box. Tipping it at enough of an angle for its innards to slowly all tumble into the barrel. When its empty, he rips the box into a few smaller pieces and tosses them in the barrel as well. Reaching into his coat pocket, he removes his trademark Zippo lighter.
With a simple flip, the lid fell over revealing the brightly burning flame it held within. With a short sigh, he drops the lighter into the barrel and watches as the cardboard begins to catch aflame. He just shakes his head in disappoint as the fire begins to roar to life. Releasing another sigh, he turns and begins to walk away...
"Where to go from here?..."
With that, he kept walking. For the first time ever, leaving his trademark Zippo lighter behind. It...just didn't seem right. Almost as if Blaze...was without his flame? Continuing his walk, he begins to sing one of his favorite songs...
"There's nothing ever wrong but nothing's ever right
Such a cruel contradiction
I know I cross the lines its not easy to define
I'm born to indecision
There's always something new some path I'm supposed to choose
With no particular rhyme or reason..."
Hmm, the irony. One of his favorite songs 'Burning Bright' by Shinedown.....Singing it at a time when his flame burns the dimmest. Maybe the Inferno was truly extinguished?
