Warren had quickly adjusted to his new surroundings. It had been a bold step for him when the transfer had been arranged to the Toronto Jail known to most as The Don Jail. No more visits from family and friends; it was simply too far a journey from New York for them.
But this was a chance for Warren to get his life back. True, he had to be accompanied by his "minder" everytime he went to the APW Offices, but at least he was getting out and about.
The Prison Authorities had seen this as an opportunity for some positive press - one of their inmates was going to be appearing as part of the APW Television broadcasts; Warren Peace would be an example of the correctional facility's ability to reform an individual.
It had been tough leaving his loved ones behind, but it was clear that despite his innocence, Warren would be behind bars for a very long time. He jumped at the chance of a fresh start.
But now, as he sat in his cell, doubt crossed his mind. All he could do was wait ... wait for the call from APW. He had no visitors anymore, nothing to look forward to but the call ... would it ever come?
Warren heard footsteps in the hall. One of the guards was approaching; it was Frost.
Nicholai Frost had worked security at another federation, but had moved into prison work once the federation folded. He had heard about the possibility of an inmate having a role in APW, and had volunteered to be Warren's escort on the excursions outside the prison walls; this was his chance to be a part of a sport he loved once again.
"Peace, you got a visitor. Come with me."
As Warren was lead down the hallway towards the visitor's centre, he couldn't help but wonder who this visitor could be.
Five minutes later they had arrived. Frost exhanged a few brief words with the guard at the door, who punched in the security code to unlock the door to the visitor's centre. Frost motioned for Warren to go in.
Warren stepped inside the visitor's centre, not knowing what to expect ...
