Shane sits in 1 of the Tower lounges with a correspondant of APW.com to conduct an interview. Dressed in his usual buisness casual attire, Shane prepares to tell it like it is-
Thanks for meeting me here today, Shane. Tell me, how do you like APW so far?
It's a pretty well run company. Unlike some places I've been. Thing seem organized here and from what I'm told you get what you give. If you just sit on your ass, dont expect to be employed here for long.
So I take it you're in agreement with that policy?
110%. This may be a lifestyle for most of us, but it's a buisness as well. If you cant make the company money, you shouldn't be here. Simple as that.
Speaking of the "buisness" side of this, what do you make of some of the other talent now under APW employ?
Wow, that's a good 1. It's a motley crew of individuals, that's for sure. Thankfully we're not over run with freaks like some "other" places, but still, I've not seen anything that's empressed me.
Big words coming from someone who's only been a pro wrestler 3 years. What makes you say that?
Do you really need to ask??? Let me break it down for you. The so called "Main eventers" APW have are...well...a joke. I mean, you've got 2 of canada's best in Nathan Micheals and Cinder Xavier. Now they both are good, no question. They both are in there prime. But if you call THEM Canada's best, you seriously jaded. I'm 21 years old, and just as good NOW as they are. Imagine when I reach my prime, what then? People give them more credit then they are worth.
Sounds like you've got an iddue with the credicts. Since we're on the subject, I have to ask you then, Dru Nedermeyer: The real deal or all hype?
Dru Nedermeyer? Wow...what can I say. The man's a legend. A 1st rate superstar, who's foughten second rate talent. A crazy brittish chick? A 2nd generation rich boy? A PORNSTAR? A friggin' wanna be ninja from NEW JERSEY??? Please. Before his run in New York, he'd beaten some top tier talent in the buisness, but when a guy that goos fights people that BAD, of course he's gonna win 9 months straight.
This gets more insightful by the minute. So what you mean to tell me is...
What I mean to tell you is that there's the old, and thhere's the new. I'm the new. Alex Price is the new Leo Evander is the new. How do you think we'd fair in companies rules by the "Dragons", "Knights", "Monsters" and "Canknucklers" of the industry? We wouldnt. Because they have the notorioty, they'd get all the title shots, all the endorcements, and all the air time. Well that wont be happening here. You see, there's a youth movement in the buisness today. Guys who are agile AND strong, technical AND extreme. That's the future. That's what the buisness needs, and that's what "Nex-Gen" is all about.
"Nex-Gen"? A new faction I guess?
Not "a" faction my friend..."THE" faction. A faction that wont stand to be held down or looked over. A faction that will do whatever it takes to get what it deserves, and that's respect...as a great man once said "By ANY Means Neccessary". And you can quote me on that, We're done here.
Shane stands up and adjust his shirt colar. He nods to the man and makes his way out of the lounge. What resonance will his words have on the shape of things to come? Only time will tell...
