He had gotten himself all dressed up and ready for a nice quiet evening on the town just like the time he and Lindsay had gone for the carriage ride through the Toronto Park. Lindsay knew he would be coming to pick her up for another date he had just left out some of the details as to what he had planned for that date. Finally ready he got to Lindsay's room and knocked on the door, just as nervous as he was the last time he was here to take Lindsay out considering how important this night would end up being if all went well. Knocking on the door a couple of times he stood back and patiently waited for Lindsay.

Lindsay opened the door slowly with a broad smile on her face. She was glad to see him. She was glad to be going on a date. Something she hadn't done since Jonny...but he only used her. And Greg....he never did anything special for her. But Mark, Mark loved her...at least she hoped he did. She certain loved him. Letting Mark see her completely another smiled pressed itself onto her face. She was wearing a rather low cut but not slutty cut black dress. It had a mid thigh high slit on the left side. A pair of her mothers diamond earrings sparked in each ear.
Hey there Pooh Bear.

Hello there. You look absolutely gorgeous this evening sweetie. He smiles as he leaned in and gave Lindsay a quick kiss. I thought we might start with something a little familiar to the two of us and take another ride through the park, I figured it would be a shame to let such a nice summer evening go to waste. Sound good to you? He held out his hand as he waited for a response from Lindsay.

Lindsay reached out and took his arm. Pulling herself close into him. Ah this was wonderful already.
I'd love to.
A bright smile crossed her face. She couldn't hide it. She loved it when they went on rides through the park. It was old fashion and romantic. Something Lindsay had always dreamed of. Old romance and being treated like a queen. And Mark did it all. And she loved him more and more each time.

Of course Mark smiled as well when Lindsay said yes, part of it because he had something special planned for her this evening, but the important part was because he loved seeing that smile on her face. Seeing her happy like this reminded him of how happy he was with her how much he had grown to love her since they first went out. Then in that case my lady your carriage awaits. He lead Lindsay outside to a waiting carriage and soon the two were off for there ride. Shortly after entering the park mark placed his hand into his pocket and felt the weight of the small item there. As nervous as a kid on his first date he turned to Lindsay and spoke up. Lindsay there is something I would really like to ask you right now, I'm just not sure if this is the right place, but this is really important and if it's okay I'd like to ask the driver to stop here for a minute in the park. He waited nervous now for Lindsay's answer and for the next most important part of his plan for the night to begin.

Lindsay smiled, feeling the air and looking around like a 5 year old on her first field trip. Life was wonderful. Turning to Mark a now more worried look on her face she spoke up.
Of course hun, whats wrong? Is everything okay?
Lindsay heart sunk. Was he dumping her? She knew she had been busy recently but she was defending her title and all that jazz. She thought he would understand. Oh god please don't say he is dumping me, she thought to herself. The worried look on her face, making her look rather pale.

He could see the change in Lindsay's appearance and knew she was worried, so once the carriage stopped he took her by the hand and lead her to a nearby fountain. There he smiled nervously at her as he started to speak. When i was younger growing up here in Toronto this park was a place I used to come to alot it made me happy to come sit here where it was quiet and just sit and watch this fountain. I hadn't felt that happy Lindsay for a long time in my life due to the way things were going until the first time you and I came here together. It wasn't to long after that, that I realized just how much I love really and truly love you. Mark turned back to face Lindsay now and as he did he had a small black box in his hands opened so Lindsay could see the ring inside. It was a simple ring really with a diamond set into the top of the loop it had been Mark's mother's engagement ring and now he hoped Lindsay would accept it from him. Lindsay I love you very much and I only pray that you feel the same because I would like to ask you to marry me Lindsay Corban and make me the happiest person alive. Holding the box with it's small precious ring out to Lindsay mark waited anxiously to hear Lindsay's answer.

Lindsay didn't know what to say. She was speechless. She had thought of marriage. But now? This soon? In the prime of her career? This was going to take some thought....She did love Mark. But was HE going to be the one to father Emily? What would Greg say? What would he do...WHy was she even thinking about Greg, it was her turn to be happy...
Mark...I...I...um... I....
She couldn't fathom the words to say....

Hearing the way Lindsay hesitated to answer it was mark's turn to turn pale. All he could think was that he had moved to fast and she was going to say no, worse still he imagined this would push her away from him for good. It seemed like an eternity to him before he could find his voice again, and even then he wasn't sure what to do or even say. I.. Lindsay if you need time, I can wait as long as you like, just please say something. He waited watching her unsure of what was to come next.

Lindsay looked up to the sky...and let out a small sigh. She looked back into Marks eyes, a smile crossing her face. Lindsay Corban-Cross. yeah...that sounds good.
Yes... Mark, I'd love too.

The smile on Lindsay's face was matched by one of his own as he placed the ring on Lindsay's finger. Then he pulled Lindsay into a hug before kissing her. I'm so happy right now Lindsay, this is better than anything I could have dreamed of. I love you Lindsay. He couldn't stop smiling at her now, this night seemed to perfect now that she had said yes.

Lindsay smiled and hugged Mark with one arm as she held her left hand with the ring on it, in the air in front of her. The word holy shit! where mouthed by Lindsay. It was a massive rock. Just amazing. Realizing what Mark had said Lindsay replied.
I Love you too.
Her eyes remained fixed on the ring. She was happy...to say the least.

The two of them still smiling they walked back to were the carriage waited and finished their ride through the park. The rest of the night seemed to go perfectly as well as the couple just enjoyed each others company. There would be of course things that needed to be planned in the near future but for now they just preferred to enjoy themselves and forget that the rest of the world even existed save for each other.
