So it was written... the first victim of Lacey has, and will be... Destiny Knight. Splendid... now... just what to do until showtime?
....
A girl can get hungry around these parts of town. APW boasts a lovely cafe within their tower.... so she guesses it is time to find out what the mystery meat tastes like. She's sure that people... at least the Roses, had seen her promo... probably not liked... but oh well. Can't make friends in their slothly comfort when you're trying to change things for the better, right? No, I thought not too...
Entering through the glass doors of the cafe, she can only stand stunned...

"....
Wow."
The waiter seats her, she can't even really hear the words he says, just mumbling as she follows him, running her hands on every unoccupied chair that she passes. She's seated... only being treated to water because she can't even begin to think what is in the liquor cabinet... ......
......
Yet.
Once she warms up, maybe finds an ego-boosting target to bitch at, or, perhaps even a friend, she can probably calm down to see what is in there. Getting wasted sounded like fun anyways...

It was another night of fine Tower View cooking for Jennifer Drew. There were plenty of worse places she could have gone and she had already been to all of them.
She had decided not to rest on her laurels between her match at Overdrive and her upcoming title defense. It could have been that Jennifer knew that Sarah wouldn’t be taking things lying down or it could be that she took the expression far too literally.
Either way she was back to her old Pandora’s Box training routine and feeling satisfied with her own sense of discipline for it. The win was nice, but it wasn’t the one that counted yet.
As she makes her way in to sit down she notices one of the new Roses sitting down for a meal too. Lacey Cadavre, a woman who had definitely made a big debut and who might have read her mind a few times doing it. This was too good to pass up.
Jen takes a seat at a table near her then turns over with a little smile.
Can I have your autograph?

"Why, hello... "Champ..."
She motions to the chair in front of her...
"Take a seat... and... I do believe that I should be the one honored to receive YOUR autograph... hm? You're already the icon... me?
....
I'm just the incoming bitch with something to prove, right?"

She gets up and switches seats.
Sweet, mutual appreciation. Thanks, although the icon thing always makes me a little nervous. Anyway, after I saw you out there had to come over and say hey. I definitely enjoyed your first impression more than Destiny.

"Well... what can I say. I'm here to ruffle some feathers and suck some life out of this Rose Division... something I'm sure that you're able to appreciate. Lead, Follow, or Get out of the way, right? It's painfully obvious she lacks any type of... "Leadership," qualities... a little... too easy, maybe? She'll learn her place..."
She takes a drink of the clear liquid in front of her, souring her face up at it. Lacks...........
Alcohol.
"Do you want something to drink?"
She motions the waiter over...

Yeah, I think I could go for something right now.
She orders her usual vodka tonic as he gets to the table.
Lacks leadership qualities? Wow, I’ve never actually heard someone say it like that, but I like it. It doesn’t really matter how you put it, I’m glad someone’s doing what you’re doing. Hopefully everyone gets it this time.

"Exactly... why slip right into the demographic? Why be molded? The only reason they cheer for her is because she gives them plenty of opportunity to pleasure themselves over her, and sees nothing wrong with becoming the object.
....
A rum and coke, please...
What about you, Jennifer? Apparently you're behind the cause of actually being watchable and respected, instead of afterthoughts... what's your opinion on this... glass ceiling that the Rose division has seemingly felt content with residing under?"

My opinion? It’s pretty simple. You and I both know we’re as entertaining, if not more, than the guys. When I go out there I don’t let anyone forget it either. That’s what having the title is all about for me, people don’t have the choice to look away and I always make it worth their while. I make people who take snack breaks during my matches sorry and I hope that’s what some of our co-workers have in mind too. Maybe it’s too much to ask though.

"And to those that sink to the level that is the popular belief of what we should be? Those... like... Destiny. The ones that they believe they will see "grace" the pages of Playboy... or, who am I kidding... she's bad enough to be in Hustler... and could care less than she does in the ring?"
Their drinks come, Lacey being the first to enjoy a small drink from the alcoholic beverage.

She nods as she takes a little sip of her own.
I won’t argue too much with you. But from what I’ve seen there’s more to it than that, at least in Destiny’s case. Especially considering her running buddies. Just don’t underestimate her too much. She may not let on, but she knows what she’s doing in the ring. Even beat me once.

"I assume that you're talking about the Familia? I hear most of them are gone soon... I think "Li'l Ol' Me" will slip under their radar quite nicely... I'm not worried about it."
A bowl of bread comes. She shrivels her nose at it for a moment before deciding to give in to her hunger and grabbing a piece, offering some to Jen.
"I... Hate... These... Carbs...
... just don't really care right now.
Anyways... I'll end up being just another Rose that roughs up Destiny a bit... and to them? I'll probably be way under their radar. It's a little too late in the season to make a cannonball splash, is it not? I'm just looking to get the ripples started to begin next year's tsunami..."

She reaches into the basket to grab herself a piece, tearing off a little bit and popping it into her mouth as she just sits and listens. Yeah, that’s right. One that’ll devastate the very landscape of the Rose Division… and cause sever structural damage in… yeah, I think I’m just going to let you be Miss Metaphor. Got any more big plans for the next three weeks? Should I brace myself?

"Once I'm done playing with the Doll? Make a real name for myself. That's about all that three weeks can entail for me to do... Just use it all to methodically put myself into position... to strike early. For what you wear... the ultimate goal. Surprised? Or have you heard it all before..."
She rips a piece of the bread off, popping it into her mouth as she waits...

Nah, but I never get tired of hearing it. That’s supposedly why we’re here isn’t it? As much as we try to deny it that’s supposed to be the point of all this isn’t it? I’m just glad you think so too.
She shoots Lacey a little smirk after another piece of bread and a quick drink.
Who knows, maybe we’ll be seeing each other in the ring next year.

"Well, since you have a championship and more than likely are booked to no end throughout the end of the year... in three short weeks... I would hope that we can, since it definately won't be this year... besides. I've got a few examples to make, anyways. Jennifer Drew is very much a proven superstar in my opinion... I'm sure she can brush off my little smart-ass while I fire up the rest of the roster. "
Finally, the waiter returns... his tip is soooooooooooo dwindling at this point... Lacey looks over to Jen...
"Hungry? My treat..."

It’s cool, I can cover myself, but thanks for offering.
She remembered that she hadn’t even decided what she’d be having yet and quickly grabs a menu and starts flipping through it.
Everything’s pretty good here, which is nice for those of us who aren’t motivated enough to leave some days. Guess the service is a little hit or miss sometimes. But I guess it’s my overly extravagant giant five-star perch of a home for now. Speaking of which, are you from around here originally?
Jen turns her head for a second to see where the waiter was to get an ETA but then turns right back to hear the answer.

"Fort Wayne, Indiana, actually..."
She's kind of hesitant. She was from there, yes... but would she ever go back?

Cool, another Midwestern girl. I'm from Cincinnati myself. Do you know many people out here yet?
She gives the waiter a little smile to guilt him into coming over to the table. That got him.

She just shakes her head.
"I've been in Canada for a while, another promotion... but, well I haven't been in exactly "Make friends" mode... People take work to seriously, I guess. Finally..."
The waiter had shown up...
"A Grilled Chicken Salad, please... Light Italian Dressing on the side..."

Tell me about it. It’s not always easy even if you are trying, plus I might have burned a few bridges when I first showed up. But what are you going to do?
As she speaks she takes a moment to consider her dining options one last time. She decides to stick to her regimen with a whiff of discipline. She’d thank herself later, right?
I’ll uh, just have the same thing.
