"Simple... build new bridges. Those that let business get in the way of their actual relationships are best left in the dust anyways..."
The waiter leaves.
"Watch our food take another hour to get here..."

Yeah,I think I could go for a little bit of that right about now. I guess a couple people don’t totally hate me any more, but I know I’m always seconds away from pissing someone off. I guess I’ll just enjoy all the bridging while I can.

Sure, I mean this is pretty cool. Unless you're trying to lure me into a false sense of security. Because I hate it when people do that.

"I lack the patience to try that, so you're good..."
She laughs a little bit... more bread coming to the table.
"They sure like to try to force carbs down your throat, don't they? I want my salad... "

You know what I think?
She leans in to share the big secret.
It’s some cruel joke the chef’s playing on us. Especially me since they know if they make me wait long enough I’m going to keep eating them so I totally negate the salad.
I know the whole kitchen’s back there laughing at me, but here I am.
She gives the kitchen door a sidelong glance. The food couldn’t be that long, could it?

Lacey doesn't care much for what they think... she flips the bird towards the doorways... to which the waiter quickly approaches the table.
"Can I help you with something, Miss?"
"Um... yeah. Our salads?"
"Will be up shortly, Ma'am... would you like more to drink?"
"Sure..."
She glances a look over at Jen while silently wondering since when did "Fuck You" mean "Come over here..."
... Oh, right... she's a woman. Idiots...

I’ve got to try that some time. I think I might still have that effect on people.
She hands off her empty glass for a fresh one once the waiter comes back.
So… what were we talking about? My memory’s messing up on me here. Oh right, so am I the first person you’ve met from the roster besides our dear dear dear friend Destiny?

"Aside from the General Managers? Yes... I guess people think I'm going to curse their souls or something if they come talk to me... I don't know. You know how people stereotype on appearance... I'm just a gothic witch to them anyways. Nothing I haven't dealt with before at my last job, anyways."
The food comes, along with the drinks. Middle finger also means "hurry up?" Maybe... she'll have to test it later...

She sighs a little as she starts digging in to the bowl.
Oh I understand that, and it gets worse if you’re actually saying what’s on your mind. That’s pretty much what happened to me. Although, I am a gothic witch…
She stops abruptly to think about it for another beat or two, and decides she’d better qualify it.
Kinda… Sort of… well more than most people, you know? The vibe is there, right? I mean I... OK, talking about you now. So where were you working before you came here, one of the other big promotions, indies or am I way off?

Really? That’s awesome. I mean, it was pretty rewarding right? But how’d you end up here?

"It's not as rewarding as you think. I'm still haunted by it. Towards the end though, I worked at a wrestling event, and then, when I needed my escape... well, you can say it was like joining the circus."

The circus, huh? Yeah I guess it’s pretty much the same vibe. So, you’re going to be on the other side of the gurney now. Well, I hope it works for you. It’ s fun and all, but there’s still plenty of haunting to be had around here.

"I doubt it'd be as bad... but thats actually what I'm looking for. Freedom, release..."
She takes a bite of the salad... while not orgasmic, it was a bit worth the wait...
"Plus it pays way better."

You got that much right. Good luck with the peace of mind though, things have a way of getting really weird around here.

"As dark as this may sound? As long as corpses don't wind up showing up? I think I'll be alright... But... let's stray from the subject... shall we? I've heard of you around, heard of some of your past... but is this only your second federation's worth of experience?"

Well the second anyone actually gives a damn about, so basically yeah. I did some indie stuff for a few years before that, but it’s really not the same.

"I can tell... That show I worked was an indy show. At least you don't have morons digging into each other with barbed wire and ladders. Yet... Ugh, who knows what next year holds, hm? Less intelligence?"

That could be a fun change of pace. They’ll probably find some way to trick me into doing that kind of stuff just to prove I haven’t sold out or anything, though. Yeah, the deathmatch stuff is kind of what got me noticed in the first place, before the TV deal and the matches where I didn’t always bleed profusely.
