Elizabeth had just gotten off the plane that had taken her from her home in England back to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The very place that she used to wrestle, the place where she and Nathan had gotten married back in January. The very arena that was being used for the biggest event of the year, Game Over! She walked into the tower, where she was greeted by the receptionist who was surprised to see her once more. She continued her way to the elevator and made her way up to her room that she shared with her husband. She walked down the long hallway, with Game Over posters plastered up and down the walls, even on the door of her room. She pulled the key card from her back pocket, and swiped it and stepped inside the room. Nathan was no where to be seen, probably out preparing for the big night. Elizabeth took a seat on the edge of the bed and turned on the television watching the news as she waited for Nathan to return...

*It had only been 20 minutes since Elizabeth returned, unknowingly to Nathan, who had just removed his body armor after returning from active duty around the streets of Toronto. It seemed like it was going to be another lonely night for the man formerly known as "The Grand-Slam" but little did he know he was in for a big surprise. He opened the door, and tossed his armor and jacket on the coat rack and made his way inside. He stopped in tracks in the doorway however when he seen that Elizabeth had returned. There she was sitting on the bed they shared; and all Nathan could do was smile. He walked over to her and gave her a hug, almost never wanting to let go*
Elizabeth...I can't believe your back...I'm so glad to see you again
*Nathan released her from his bear hug and looked down at her with a never ending smile of white teeth. His green eyes almost sparking now tha his wife had returned*

She was loved again. Being in her husbands arms made her feel right warm inside, she had even smiled for the first time in what seemed like months, but it was short lived. She had to tell Nathan why she returned, and why it wasn't going to be for long.
Nathan...
She says, nearly stuttering on her words as she looks back at him
I'm not here to stay.
The facial expression of Nathan told her everything, he was confused, and worried at the same time. She knew that the next things see needed to say where going to be some of the hardest things of her life. Something she never thought she'd do
Nathan...
Another pause. This was going to be even more difficult then she had thought. She takes a deep breath trying to hold back the tears.
I'm leaving you...and not coming back...I want a divorce...

*Nathan just stood there, no expression on his face. His smile long gone, and confusing running amok in his head. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. His wonderful wife Elizabeth wanted a divorce?*
...What...
*Nathan says confusingly. He could not wrap his mind around everything that was happening to him just now. He puts his hand up covers the majority of his face before removing it, like he was trying to think of the words to say*
You want a divorse...
*Words Nathan never thought he would say, especially once him and Elizabeth gotten married, it seemed like a relationship that would last...in his eyes at least.*
If that is what you really want Elizabeth....then....give me the papers and I'll sign them...
*You could see the look in Nathan's green eyes, his heart was broken, ripped from his chest and tossed in the garbage. All this just before his big matches at Game Over! but those were the least of his worries*

This was going much harder then she had thought. She had thought Nathan was going to lose his mind and leave the room, and then she could have her lawyer handle it from her. But...Nathan was different, he was always different, he would do anything for anyone he cared about, after all that's why he was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. But still, having Nathan want to sign their divorce papers right there and now still gave her a feeling in the pit of her stomach. She still loved him, but, she had to do it. Something bad was coming to get him if she didn't do this, it was for his own good. Elizabeth reached over to the table, and picked up the papers that she had gotten from her lawyer, and handed them to Nathan.

*Nathan's arm shook as he reached out to take the papers from Elizabeth's smooth hand, this situation was one of the hardest he's ever had to deal with. He looked at it for a moment, then back at Elizabeth who had her head down, trying not to make eye contact with him. There it was, her name "Elizabeth Knight Michaels" filed for divorce, and all that needed to be done was for Nathan Michaels to sign his name making it official. Nathan walked over to the table, grabbed a pen, and starred at it once again. He placed the ball of the pen on the paper and started to sign his name. "Nathan". That's when he paused for a moment, and looked back up at Elizabeth, this time able to make eye contact. He could see the passion in her eyes, just how upset she was for doing this, and how she was doing everything she could to hold back the tears.*
Elizabeth...Do you still love me?
*Nathan asked. It was something he had to know, either way he was going to sign those divorce papers, but he had to know if she still loved him.*

There it was, the question she was afraid he would ask. Of course she still loved him, but; things were different now. She had discovered disturbing information about her families past, and was told that someone she loved was going to suffer for it. The only person she truly loved for Nathan, but; this was something she couldn't tell him. She opened her mouth and began to studder
...I...
The words were on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn't get them out. She wanted to say "Of course I do" and hug him, but she she couldn't. She had to say those awful words, ones that might haunt her for the rest of her life
Don't....Love you...
Success, the words were out, but her mouth felt so dirty, like she had just eaten dirt for what she said. Elizabeth just looked at Nathan, trying to be as serious as possible, took a deep breath, and looked back at the divorce papers
Please don't make this harder for yourself Nathan.

*Don’t make this harder, this was already hard enough. But after hearing those words Nathan had no choice but to look back at those papers and finish signing his name. Once again he placed his pen on the paper, but this time, something else caught his attention. Something that was in the newspaper he had gotten earlier today that he had not gotten a chance to read. The death of a close friend, to both him and Elizabeth.**As if this day couldn’t get any worse, he signed the rest of his name and stood back up straight again and handed those papers back to Elizabeth. However; he moved himself in front of the paper that had their friends death in it. A day like today, last thing he wanted to do was tell Elizabeth that he had passed away. However he was sure that it was something she would find out sooner rather then later.*Please leave Liz…I’d like to be alone at the moment.

Sure Nathan...please take care.
Elizabeth gave him a small kiss on the cheek for handling this so well, then removed her ring from her finger and gave it back to Nathan. She then turned her back to him, left her key on the table, and made sure not to look back as she exit the room, and shut the door. She looked down, his name was there, now it was official, she was no longer a Michaels, just a royale Knight.

*Elizabeth had left him. He just looked down at the wedding ring he bought her and just clenched it before placing it on the table. He took a seat, and picked up the paper. He couldn't believe Jon Pryor had passed away, the man who was the best man at his wedding. Despite being in different feds, the two still managed to keep in contact. It was a sad thing to read, of course this was on top of Elizabeth leaving him. He knows he's going to see her again at Jon's funeral, which is going to be a sad sight.*
Not the way this year should have ended....
