It had been a few days since he had been brought in. He was in pretty bad condition. He thought he wasn't going to make it. Fortunately for him, someone had come along and had taken him to get medical treatment. If it wasn't for that woman, he probably would not being breathing at the moment. As he laid in a hospital bed, rays of sunshine filled the room. It was the day time. The sun seemed to be in a position that had some of the light shining on his face. He slowly began to open his eye as the light was bugging him. Waking up from the rest he had been taking after the doctors and nurses had taken care of him. He raised a hand up to his face to shield them from the light. Upon touching his face, he felt a cloth-like material. What was this about? Once his eyes were able to focus, the first thing he saw when he opened his eye was a woman standing over his bed. He kind of got a shocked look on his face when he saw her. Not expecting to see someone hovering over his face to be the first thing he saw.
"Huh...?"
Nurse: "Ah... I see that you're awake sir..."
"Who are you...?"
Nurse: "Don't be alarmed. You're safe..."
He began to feel his face again. Bandages? How did these get here? That's when he realized, he was only seeing with one of his eyes. He began to look at himself now. Realizing he's in a bed. There were more bandages along his arms and he could feel more across his torso and legs. He tried to move a little bit to get up but he still felt a slight bit of pain in his body. He wasn't ready to leave this place just yet. He still needed to heal more.
"Where am I...?"
Nurse: "You don't remember? You're in a hospital. A woman found you in a pretty bad condition and brought you in a few days ago."
"Woman...? What...?"
He tried to think about how he had gotten here and what he could remember. It was pretty vague memory of what had happened. He remembered waking up in some place and someone had found him. The rest was a blur. He figured he might have blacked out or fell unconscious again on the trip to the hospital. Or he just had a horrible memory. The person that found him must have been that woman that she mentioned. He was safe. He was in a hospital being taken care of. He was grateful but as he looked around the room, no one else was there. He wondered where this woman was.
Nurse: "Yes. She left a card here for you with contact information incase you wanted to contact her."
He looked back at the nurse as she mentioned the card. The nurse picked it up off the table and brought it over to him. He reached out and accepted the card from her. Looking down at the card, he raised an eyebrow. Chantell Angel...? He didn't recognize the name. Neither did he recognize the phone number or address. Strange. Perhaps she was just a stranger strolling through when she found him. He didn't know. Why was he expecting it to be someone he knew? Then again, he could remember ever knowing anyone. Did he have family? Was she related to him? He could remember. His name? Why can't he remember that either? He began to get frustrated. His mind felt empty. He shook his head and asked...
"Is there a way that I can get in contact with this woman from here...? I can't seem to move much from where I'm at..."
Nurse: "Yes. There a phone right there."
The nurse pointed off to the side of his bed. He looked over to find there was a phone so that he could contact people from. That was good. He wanted to see who this Chantell Angel was. And thank her for giving him a helping hand in his time of need. He reached forward slowly and grabbed the phone off the hook. He held the card up and looked down at the phone. Punching in the numbers on the card to call this woman. The nurse nodded her head and said...
Nurse: "I'll leave you be."
He nodded to the nurse and she left his room. He lifted the phone up to his ear and waited...
